As an eternal spark of Divine light, you chose to incarnate on this planet, at this particular time in human history. Perhaps like me, you were confused as a child, as you observed the broad spectrum of human culture and behavior.
There are joyous and connected moments.
There’s also pain and suffering, which truthfully, doesn’t make sense.
How easy for an empath to become entangled in everything around you. Feeling the intensity of millions of souls having a very human experience: anxiety, fears, hopes and frustrations. Sometimes it feels like waves crashing over your heart, mind and body. Being tossed along the shore, pounded with emotion after emotion.
You see a disturbing news report and it takes you down.
You have an interpersonal conflict and spiral out of control.
Astrological energies come, one after the other, to dig through your psyche.
How can extremely sensitive people find both compassionate and objective ground? Step back a bit to observe self and others — we are mirrors for each other. How can you bring the lesson into view without wallowing in it?
You came here to fully participate. Sitting on the sidelines of life is really not an option. Yet, it’s possible to swim in the choppy seas without drowning. To be a deep thinker without constantly ruminating. To notice all the subtleties of life without obsessing over perfection.
I’ve observed most sensitive people don’t know how to relax — reluctantly raises hand! With a nervous system and energy field that picks up everything, it’s easy to develop a habit of being constantly ‘on guard’. You almost can’t help it.
Take a moment to thank your sensitive antennae — your intuitive mind, connected heart and responsive body. They’re your greatest assets.
Now, invite them to stand down.
Ask them to release tension, let go of constant watchfulness. Intake a deep, life-giving breath. Receive prana, the universal life-force energy. Chant quietly and lovingly inside your mind: I am safe. I am safe. I am safe.
Look around you, take in the colors, textures and patterns of your everyday existence. Admire where something is…
